Mistral is a French AI lab that offers many free and commercial LLM models. Some are meant for large businesses and enterprises while others can be used by individuals at home for free. These “Local LLMs” allow you to download a file and run the entire model on your own computer — meaning it doesn’t even require internet access. If hosting on your own computer isn’t your thing, there are online LLM service providers and apps that host them for you too.
