Perplexity is an LLM-powered search engine that sources from multiple LLMs, including Claude and ChatGPT. While they don’t really offer their own “LLM model”, they let you choose between some of the most popular models. They do have a few smaller proprietary models called “PPLX” that they trained and use within their search engine — therefore we have included Perplexity in our main LLM models directory.

Perplexity’s strength is that it can crawl the web for real-time news like a search engine AND also analyze files and answer questions like traditional LLMs.

They recently released an LLM agent feature called “Shop With Pro” which allows you to purchase items with 1-click. The engine will automatically search for the best items and prices, analyze reviews, and let you immediately check out.
